Our routes are planned around distance, hills, bridge crossings, wind, weather, construction, trailer load, safety, and overall route efficiency, not just postal borders.
Flexible service zones include Verdun, Ville-Émard, Côte-Saint-Paul, nearby parts of LaSalle, Saint-Henri, Pointe-Saint-Charles, Griffintown, Old Montréal, Downtown, and longer island-wide routes when the donation volume makes sense.
Even in our closest zones, we always ask clients to be reasonable with quantity whenever possible.
If you have the space to store a couple of large bags before booking, it makes the trip much easier and more efficient.
That said, we are always happy to make exceptions, especially for seniors, mobility challenges, urgent move-outs, spring cleaning, recurring clients, or nearby same-route pickups.

Extended Donation Pickups Across the Island
C4CCS is also happy to travel anywhere on the island of Montréal when the donation volume makes the trip worthwhile.
For longer routes, especially when there are hills, distance, wind, weather, or extra travel time, we simply ask that the quantity of donated empties makes practical sense for the trip.
For example, one small bag may not justify a long trip, while multiple large bags of donated cans can easily make the trip worthwhile.
The more donated cans and bottles we can collect in one stop, the more value we can redirect toward community support.
This is why larger donation pickups anywhere on the island are always welcome.
Our preferred model stays 100% green bicycle trailer pickup, but for exceptional donation volumes we are always open to practical solutions that keep the donation possible.

Drop-Off Donations by Appointment
Some people who strongly believe in our cause prefer to drop off their donated empties directly, especially if they already have access to a truck, van, or larger vehicle.
This has included microbrewery, catering company, larger truckloads, donors coming from outside Montréal, and people already entering the city for work, errands, or visits.
We always personally meet donors for the initial drop-off.
Before arrival, we explain the easiest way to access the drop-off point through the alley.
When they arrive, we meet and greet them, help unload, and explain how future drop-offs can be done anytime they are entering the borough or coming into the city.
We also show where bags can be safely and discreetly placed out of sight if we are not on site at that exact moment.
This makes future drop-offs fast, easy, and convenient.
If you would rather drop off your empties donation, simply mention this in the Donate & Schedule a Pickup form on the Home Page.

Planned and Recurring Pickups
C4CCS also offers planned recurring pickups for clients who generate empties regularly.
Some households, businesses, bars, restaurants, and organizations naturally go through more cans and bottles than others, especially in workplaces, schools, rehearsal studios, community spaces, hospitality spaces, and other busy environments.
Many workplaces or learning spaces simply do not have enough storage space, which is why planned recurring pickups are one of the easiest solutions.
Typical recurring schedules include weekly pickups, every 2 weeks in winter depending on weather, monthly pickups, or custom pickup days based on your needs.
Once the routine is set, we often stop by on the agreed day, say hello to staff, collect the company can and bottle box, access storage rooms when authorized, use building entry codes or keys when arranged, prepare the containers for transport, and quickly rinse or clean the collection bin if needed.
Many regular clients simply continue their day while we quietly handle the pickup.
Whenever possible, we schedule pickups before your area’s recycling day so refundable containers do not accidentally end up in the trash or regular recycling.

Small Pickups and Neighborhood Grouping
If your pickup is for a small amount, such as half of a blue recycling bag, we will usually suggest letting it build up a little longer.
Another great option is to ask nearby neighbours, family, or friends if they also want to donate their empties at the same time.
A small half-bag pickup can quickly become a perfect pickup when combined with others nearby.
This is one of the easiest ways to turn a small request into a great neighborhood donation pickup.
If we already have scheduled or repeat pickups in your area soon, we may also be able to combine your request with that route.
This keeps the service flexible, community-based, donation-focused, and environmentally responsible.

Pickup Bag Guidelines and Size Guide
When we say large bags, we mean standard Consignaction clear bags with green writing or green stripe, large blue clear recycling bags, and standard black garbage bags filled mostly with cans.
The best pickups are bags filled mainly with cans because cans are lighter, denser, faster to redeem, and take much less trailer space.
Typical pickup sizes range from 3 to 7 large bags, which is excellent, to 8 to 10 large bags, which is ideal.
Between 11 and 19 bags may need more than one trip.
Twenty or more bags is considered commercial or institutional.
Forty or more bags usually becomes a recurring large business route.
These ranges vary depending on the contents.
For example, glass beer bottles are heavier and take more trailer space, which can reduce how much fits safely in one trip.
Whenever possible, we encourage keeping glass bottles in their original cases for easier transport and to help avoid breakage.
For very large pickups of 20 to 50 bags, we simply complete the collection over multiple trips the same day when needed, usually within about a 6-hour service window.

When Other Collection Plans Fall Through
Over the years, people have often called us after saving large amounts of cans and bottles for community drives, fundraising pickups, or seasonal collections that never happened.
Sometimes weather, scheduling problems, or other unexpected issues prevent those pickups from taking place.
When that happens, people can suddenly end up with half a garage, basement, storage room, office, or community space full of empties.
C4CCS is more than happy to step in and help recover those large unexpected donation volumes.
Whether the original pickup was postponed, cancelled, or simply never happened, we can often organize a backup pickup route.
This is especially helpful for fundraising drives, seasonal bottle campaigns, school or sports team collections, spring cleaning, move-outs, and large garage clear-outs.
