As most of you are well aware, I founded "Service de Collecte Cans4Cash" (C4CCS) 5 years ago. we are a social enterprise that collects refundable bottles and cans. We give to charities, other social enterprises, and noble causes. I've volunteered now close to 500 hrs in the community.
Today, was the 2nd time I went recycling bin hunting in search of refundable bottles and cans since lock-down ended The 2nd time in over 8 months (equally did so last Thursday). If you saw the amount of used potentially contaminated 3M polypropylene masks I saw in recycling bins you'd all freak the out. This will be another issue I address in the near future. I will start taking pictures to demonstrate another act of irresponsibility towards nature and other human beings we humans are creating. Already over 80% of what we idiots wash like fools and place in our blue recycling bins goes straight to the landfill. I'd guesstimate that number will now increase to over 95% due to the pandemic ergo contaminated truckloads of recyclables. STAY TUNED, another issue our provincial leaders need to address asap but seem to be ignoring in hope it will just go away.
