People need to get involved. We cannot expect merely our blue collar workers to do the job. Citizens need to do their part, the city needs to address the problem and stop avoiding it. The city needs and create information campaigns to inform and guide the public on the proper disposal of PPE. PPE waste is going to be a huge dilemma. Big business need$ to step up and financially assist in cleaning up their profit driven nasty ecological footprints. The police need to begin giving infractions out to those who litter their PPE. In France, and other countries, the police are ticketing up to 250$ to those who litter. Our wildlife and our natural environment is already suffering enough with our egocentric mannerisms.
Lastly, please spread the message. People equally need to gather up their disposable masks, place as many they can in a bag, double the bag and dispose of them properly in the trash. (for the time being until a better solution such as recycling is possible) Why? Because on their journey to the landfill or even at the landfills itself the masks are finding there way back into nature, in our waterways, - the wind blows them. And PLEASE, cut the strings off your masks before you chuck them in the trash, our wildlife are finding themselves tangling and strangling to death in our face masks strings.
